Jose Mourinho says he’s no Tom Cruise as Chelsea manager describes title quest as the ‘impossible mission’.
Jose Mourinho admitted on Saturday night that challenging for the title would be a mission impossible for Chelsea this season and added that he is no Tom Cruise.
Chelsea beat Norwich 1-0 to end their dismal run of three successive Premier League defeats but though Mourinho said that he believed his team can still make the top four and qualify for the Champions League, he also said that it would be hard to emulate the Hollywood actor in his capacity to pull off seemingly unfeasible tasks in his action films.
Mourinho said: ‘The fourth position is not an impossible mission. If you are me about the title I would say: impossible mission. Maybe Tom Cruise can do it for us but it’s complicated.
And he said that the victory was for Chelsea’s player liaison officer, Gary Staker, whose father died.
‘I would like personally to dedicate the victory to Gary, somebody who is so close to us.He lost his dad yesterday. And he couldn’t be with us today. My thoughts are with a big friend, from all of us.
